Boca campus, SE 483: Restricted Instructional lab: Twenty workstation class Dell computers with 6-8GB RAM, Mid-level NVidia Quadro GPUs, NVidia 3D Vision system supporting stereo 3D applications with active LCD shutter glasses.
Boca campus, SE 457: Open Instructional lab: Forty two seat VDI computer lab, HP Thin clients accessing Citrix Xendesktop virtual machines on three Dell servers with 112GB RAM each and 15K SAS drives in RAID 10.
Davie campus, DW 327: Open Instructional lab Twenty four seat VDI computer lab, Wyse Zero clients accessing Citrix Xendesktop virtual machines on two Dell servers with 48GB RAM each and SATA drives in RAID 10.
Cloud computing: Citrix XenApp based servers hosting up to 35 concurrent connections for off campus access to GIS, Remote Sensing and other Geosciences’ softwares.
Mobil GIS: One Trimble Pro XH sub-meter GPS receiver, two Trimble Pro XR sub-meter GPS, Twenty-four Trimble Junos, and five tablet PC’s.
Server infrastructure: CIFS 8TB file server for faculty and student use, NFS NAS 6TB shared storage array for Citrix infrastructure, and Citrix Xenserver pool of three Dell servers hosting virtualized software license servers, web servers, faculty and student VDI’s, Xendesktop controllers, faculty and student ArcGIS Servers, and secure access gateway.
Software available in all labs and for cloud computing: ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Server University wide site license, ESRI ArcPad Mobile GIS, Erdas Imagine, eCognition, Trimble GPS Analyst, Trimble Terrasync, Trimble Pathfinder Office, Roxar RMS, Rockworks, SPSS.
