Greynolds Park
Greynolds Park is located in the City of North Miami Beach, off Miami Gardens Drive and West Dixie Highway. The park is large with numerous outcrops. Historically the area had been know for the many rock quarries, especially neighboring Ojus, which was home to the Maule Ojus Rock Company. The quarried limestone was used to build many structures in the park.
One of the longest exposures of the Miami Limestone is located on the northeast side of the park adjacent to the lake. This locale had the characteristic bioturbated and cross-bedded alternating sequences separated by a mud layer.
