Phipps Park
Phipps Park is located at the south end of Palm Beach on SR-A1A. The outcrop extends discontinuously for 5 mi (8km) south of the park. The rock contains poorly defined planar bedding. Coupled with east-west trending vertical joints, this bedding produces slabs that are roughly square. According to Lovejoy, (1998) the local residents are convinced that the slabs are actually pieces of A1A that were washed into the ocean during a hurricane years before. Solution holes and pitting are also present.
